Over the past two years Florida trucking companies have seen a dramatic increase in outbound Florida capacity. This has resulted in company after company competing in the cut throat industry that trucking has become. The month of October has shown us signs that the recession maybe on the uprise. Prices are tightening and week after week we are seeing capacity issues throughout the industry.
Companies that continue to increase capacity, increase sales, play the cut throat game and have an operations team that is dedicated to their drivers will survive. These companies will outweigh their competition in the future months ahead. The companies that do not do so will fall by the weigh side, do to service failures and driver retention.
Drivers (owner operators) must hold on strong through the bad times to experience the good times ahead. Rates will increase, as will fuel but as capacity tightens drivers will consistently stay on the road.
